What your Michelin warranty covers

Michelin's standard coverage: 6-year limited (workmanship & materials) + mileage warranty. Exact terms vary by model and date of purchase — confirm yours on the official Michelin warranty page.

Before you file: gather these

How to file a Michelin warranty claim, step by step

  1. Contact Michelin through an official channel

Use the support number or claim form on Michelin's official site — not a third-party seller — so your claim is on record with the manufacturer. Start at the official Michelin warranty/support page.

  2. Give them your model, serial, and purchase date

Have these ready — it's the first thing they'll ask, and it lets them confirm your coverage immediately.

  3. Describe the problem clearly

Explain the defect and that you believe it's covered under the Michelin warranty. Reference the specific coverage (e.g. the sealed-system or motor coverage above) if it applies.

  4. Get everything in writing

Save your case/reference number, the rep's name, and a summary of what was agreed. This paper trail is what resolves disputes if anything stalls.

  5. If it's denied, push back

A denial isn't final — see our guide on what to do if your claim is denied.

Common Michelin warranty situations: Common Michelin warranty situations: tread separation within the warranty period (workmanship defect — covered), sidewall bubbles from manufacturing defects (covered), premature wear claims under the mileage warranty (requires retailer inspection). Michelin's 6-year age warranty covers tires regardless of mileage if a manufacturing defect is found within 6 years of production date.

Michelin's standard manufacturer warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread. Call 1-866-MICHELIN or contact the retailer where tires were installed. For road hazard damage (nails, potholes), you need road hazard protection purchased at installation — the manufacturer warranty does not cover these. Mileage warranty claims require bringing tires to an authorized Michelin retailer for inspection.
