How long is the Yokohama tire warranty?

Yokohama tires carry a Standard Limited Warranty covering workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread or a set number of years from purchase. Many Yokohama replacement lines — particularly the AVID and Geolandar touring series — include a Treadwear Mileage Warranty ranging from roughly 45,000 to 85,000 miles, with prorated credit toward replacement if the tire wears out early.

Yokohama also offers a 30-day trial on many lines bought from authorized dealers. As with all tire brands, the manufacturer warranty covers defects and mileage — not road-hazard damage from nails, potholes, or curbs, which requires separate road-hazard protection purchased at the dealer. Mileage warranties require regular rotation; keep your service records.

How to file a Yokohama warranty claim

  1. Find your proof of purchase

Locate the receipt, order confirmation, or card statement showing the purchase date — coverage is measured from it.

  2. Locate the model & serial number

Usually on a label on the unit, in the manual, or in your online account. Yokohama support will ask for it first.

  3. Contact Yokohama through an official channel

Use the support number or claim form on their official site — not third-party sellers — so your claim is on record with the manufacturer.

  4. Document everything

Save case numbers, names, dates, and photos of the defect. A clear paper trail resolves disputes faster.

  5. Escalate if needed

If a valid claim stalls, ask for a supervisor and reference your statutory rights as a consumer (see our warranty types guide).

Repair or replace your Yokohama? A quick rule of thumb

The common guidance: if the repair costs more than half the price of a new unit, or the unit is past ~75% of its expected lifespan, replacement usually wins. For major sealed-system or compressor failures out of warranty, repairs can run $400–$1,000+, which often tips toward replacing — but always get a diagnosis first.

When the warranty ends

Road hazard

A nail or pothole isn't covered by the Yokohama warranty. Road-hazard protection or a replacement is the path.
