How long is the Vitamix warranty — and why it's the best in the category

Vitamix offers the strongest warranty in the blender category, and it's a full warranty, not a limited one — a meaningful legal distinction. Ascent and Smart System blenders carry 10 years; most Explorian and legacy C-Series machines carry 5–7 years depending on the model. The full warranty covers parts, performance, and labor — and Vitamix pays shipping both ways with a prepaid pickup label.

Registration is not required (it just speeds up service), and the warranty even survives ownership transfer on some series if the owner information is updated at vitamix.com/warranty. The major caveat: coverage applies only to machines bought from Vitamix or authorized retailers — units from unauthorized sellers (some marketplace listings) carry no warranty at all. Household use only; commercial use requires a commercial machine.

How to file a Vitamix warranty claim

  1. Find your proof of purchase

Locate the receipt, order confirmation, or card statement showing the purchase date — coverage is measured from it.

  2. Locate the model & serial number

Usually on a label on the unit, in the manual, or in your online account. Vitamix support will ask for it first.

  3. Contact Vitamix through an official channel

Use the support number or claim form on their official site — not third-party sellers — so your claim is on record with the manufacturer.

  4. Document everything

Save case numbers, names, dates, and photos of the defect. A clear paper trail resolves disputes faster.

  5. Escalate if needed

If a valid claim stalls, ask for a supervisor and reference your statutory rights as a consumer (see our warranty types guide).

Repair or replace your Vitamix? A quick rule of thumb

The common guidance: if the repair costs more than half the price of a new unit, or the unit is past ~75% of its expected lifespan, replacement usually wins. For major sealed-system or compressor failures out of warranty, repairs can run $400–$1,000+, which often tips toward replacing — but always get a diagnosis first.

When the warranty ends

Out of warranty or claim denied? Here's how to think through the options — ranked by what usually makes financial sense first.

🔧
Repair it

Get a diagnosis first. Many Vitamix parts are DIY-replaceable and a quote often costs nothing.
